Favourite Finds – Skinmade

Today it would be my pleasure to introduce you to Skinmade, handcrafted skin care from Queensland.

Of course, you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but thoughtful packaging is always a winner in my eyes.

When this brand say the are sustainable and your products come wrapped in hand stamped gum leaves, what is there left to say?

Launched in 2013, Skinmade is hand crafted in small batches by two Queensland beauties and friends – Genevieve and Claire. With backgrounds in health sciences and Naturopathy, they are a driven duo with a huge passion and a big heart for keeping it clean.

Last week we explored the nitty gritty of why and how to choose a natural sunscreen and today we have our latest Favourite Find – Eco Tan Natural Coconut Sunscreen.

This product has been on my radar for a while, after testing out many brands over the years so when our friends at Nourished Life suggested I try it, I thought I better get all over it.

The brand Eco Tan might sound a little familiar right? that’s because we know this brand pretty well already from our Favourite Find feature of Eco By Sonya’s Coconut + Mint Body Wash.

As an 80’s child growing up in New Zealand, I have fond memories of mum lathering any old commercial sunscreen on my body, head to toe. 25 years later and through my own journey, I have come to realise that there is so much more to your average sunscreen than we are lead to believe.

So why all the fuss you ask? How could something doing us good potentially do the reverse?

Favourite Finds – Rasasara Herbal Face Cleansing Bar

Rasasara is a boutique Ayurvedic Organic ‘skinfood’ line that is carefully formulated in Melbourne, Victoria by the passionate Sonia Llyod. I was first introduced to the world of Ayurvedic skincare a couple of years ago when the lovely Lizzy of Primal Junction fame, kindly gifted me with an eye gel for Christmas. It wasn’t until moving to Melbourne that I stumbled upon the full line at my favourite Organic grocer, and of course you know with me – the rest is history!

Favourite Finds – Eco by Sonya Coconut + Mint Body Wash

I first stumbled upon the Eco by Sonya brand when I was researching alternatives to conventional fake tans. Perhaps I should clarify that – on one of my many adventures to the health food store looking for a chemical-free alternative to common tanning products, I discovered Eco Tan.

Founded by Sonya Driver in 2011, her product Eco Tan Invisible Tan was launched out of a very personal desire to create Australia’s first Organic tanning product.
