So you might be wondering why I am telling you to get off your bum today? And I don’t mean it in the nasty sense, in fact, it is with your best interest at heart beautiful.

Because it is has been proven that the amount of time you spend sitting, will have a long term effect on many areas of your health from the quality of your digestion to your posture.

Two things that are important for natural beauty.

Spending much less time at a desk was one of the major things I committed when leaving my Architecture career two years a go. This was both a scary and exhilarating moment, because as an Architect, the desk had become my ‘home’ for creating new spaces. How was I going to feel without one?

Announcing the release of PALEO | by Lizzy of Primal Junction

September 9, 2014

For a long time, I’ve had the goal of writing a cookbook. One of my most relaxing and indulgent activities is to lie on the floor in the living room at home, surrounded by my favourite cookbooks. For me, it’s not even about cooking out of them.

I love all the beautiful images, creative recipe methods and I better yet, the challenge of making delicious and nutrient dense alternatives without the “fluffy” and “filler” ingredients like flour, sugars and grains. It’s always so rewarding to make a “paleo” dinner for guests and friends without them even knowing!

As I started experimenting more and more with my food and reducing the amount of toxins, sugar, dairy and grains that I was consuming, I kept needing to alter dishes and classic family favourites.

There is nothing better that a dessert that is tastes good and your skin will love you for, right?

As you may recall, we spoke about the importance of hydration a little while back so today we thought we would bring you our favourite hydrating recipe from my new book Paleo.

This watermelon and basil granita is a hydrating, refreshing dessert or snack option particularly as the weather starts to warm up! Watermelon is made up of about 92% water and 8% sugar, with its deep red colouring attributed to its high Lycopene content, a powerful antioxidant.

Dairy and skin health

The links between skin health and diet are incredibly strong. Many of us grow up thinking we have bad skin just “because” but often, an aspect of the diet can be contributing to skin conditions like acne, rashes and eczema.

Dairy is one aspect of the food pyramid that seems to illicit many digestive and inflammatory symptoms in our clients. For those that are experiencing digestive bloating, sinus issues, allergies and/or acne, dairy is one of the first things that we remove completely to observe the impact.

For many, the difference is astounding and it’s something that is not often replaced!
