A few weeks ago I had a Skype session with a gorgeous angel intuitive. Much of what she told me, I had already brought to fruition in the form of goals and desires in the weeks prior to our date. Which kinda shocked me, but I also had a funny feeling in my stomach that she was just confirming my own inner knowing.
However, the most illuminating thing about this experience, is that what she told me that day, had already been told to others in my family who had their own separate experiences with intuitive. Crazy huh? Or maybe not…
This got me curious about these two questions:
Is our path predetermined?
Or can we create, or choose our own destiny by using our inner guidance?
The experience I had with the intuitive, would probably leave you thinking that life is option a) – it’s predetermined.
To a certain extent maybe, but option b) has always seemed possible to me.
Today’s video is simply my observations, and stems from my curiosity.
In fact, I’ve always thought it cool that we could wake up tomorrow and begin to take the steps towards living our dream life.
You’ve possibly heard about tools like manifesting, law of attraction, affirmations – yeah?
Many of these tools come back to observing your thoughts, shifting limiting beliefs and rewiring your neural pathways – to bring in more of what you want. So this would suggest to me that we can create our own destiny. Despite the adversity we might face at times or the things that feel out of our control at times.
BUT ultimately, through these tools, we are able to change the lens through we see ourselves and the world.
This lens is the product when we embody an upward positive energy, a mind that is expanded to what’s possible, and the amount of time spent feeling stuck, sad, angry or resentful become less and less. It feels damn good when you’re in that state.
It’s all powerful stuff right?
So, then it got me thinking, how does our intuition (or our deep inner wisdom) play a part in our destiny?
Is intuition a gift we are born with or is it something we can strengthen – as we would a muscle?
Are practices like meditation one way to strengthen this muscle?
It is believed that intuition is something we all have, for some of us it is naturally stronger from a younger age.
The beautiful thing about developing your ability to listen to your intuition, is the subtle cues it provides us – that often can’t be explained through regular forms of communication like talking, reading or writing.
Intuition, I believe is an inner guidance mechanism, that allows us to lower the noise of thinking and being in our minds all the time – which I’m sure we all know well?
So if meditation is about awareness, being deeply observant – then ultimately we are creating an intimacy with ourselves.
We are deeply connected with our heart space.
I’ve seen it in my own life, that meditation is one of the quickest ways to flex this awareness muscle.
But so is the intimacy we create with our bodies.
Over time, the more you fine tune this intimacy, the body becomes a sort of barometer for when the pressure is too high or too low and we need to dial it accordingly.
This is where self care comes in.
Yep, I know I bang on a lot about this shit, but I know it is 100% the essence of maintaining our power and living our our truth.
They say ‘behind every great man is a great woman’…well I believe, behind every great human is a fully dialled in self care plan.
So in order to create the future that unfolded in my angel reading the other day, I am certain there are a couple of things that will both support and guide me towards that path, which is what I want to share with you today
// Tuning into my body moment to moment, day to day. What do I need right now to thrive in this body so that I can create the life I want to live? What foods? What exercise? To stay up or go to sleep? This is self care.
// Heart opening exercises – specific yoga poses or movement like dance that allow you to open the front of the body, move the spine in all directions and release tension.
// Disconnect and get into nature. How can we truly listen to ourselves if we are always connected to our devices, even something as simple as walking barefoot creates a beautiful earth connection.
// And finally, get in touch with creative side, paint, dance, do whatever gets you in the zone and forgetting about all those things you think are constraining you. I can remember what it felt like as a child to be engaged in play and everything was possible.
So, I have a little challenge for you.
Which of these four things are you going to incorporate into your day or week?
If you want to put a lid on some of those thoughts that race around your head and begin to listen to the real answers that are in there, these sure fire ways will get there.
